Harrisburg Event Attracts Thousands
5K Race Part of Event
HARRISBURG, Ill - The second annual Shawnee Sasquatch Festival is coming to Southern Illinois. The event will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, in Harrisburg, Illinois.
The festival will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including live music, food vendors, and a beer garden. There will also be a 5K run/walk called "Run Like A Squatch.”
The event is expected to attract thousands of people from all over the region. It is being organized by the Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce and the Shawnee National Forest.
"We are excited to bring this event back to Harrisburg," said Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce President John Smith. "We had a great turnout last year, and we are expecting even more people this year."
The 5K run/walk will start at 9:00 AM on October 5th. The course will wind through the Shawnee National Forest and will be open to runners and walkers of all ages.
"The 5K run/walk is a great way to get involved in the festival and to support the Shawnee National Forest," said Smith.
